Loaves of Thanksgiving

The Second Vatican Council calls for Eucharistic celebrations in which the laity participate 'actively and fully'. This video course is designed to make this dream come true.

Picture of the Video

The course helps us reflect on five key elements of the Eucharist:

The video shows snapshots in the life of a parish. We see ordinary people: an Indian hairdresser, a student, a single-parent mother,a retired corporal, a Jamaican primary school teacher, contribute to waking up the parish community. From being dead it becomes committed, dynamic, adventurous.

"Loaves of Thanksgiving is, in my opinion, an excellent tool to prompt reflection and discussion on the Eucharist. It leads on to a further exploration of the deeper meaning of the Eucharist and to a fuller commitment.

The video thus helps to achieve what the Church is looking for: `that all the faithful be led to that full, conscious and active participation which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy' (Sacrosanctum Concilium, no 14).

I recommend this video wholeheartedly and would like it to be viewed and discussed in all parishes of the Archdiocese."

Cardinal Basil Hume, Archbishop of Westminster, UK.
